Child Care Solicitor – Greater Manchester

The Role

• Advise and represent clients in public law children matters.

• Manage a varied caseload of childcare proceedings.

• Represent parents and other clients throughout care proceedings.

• Prepare cases, manage court documentation, and develop case strategies.

• Undertake advocacy and represent clients at hearings.

• Advise on publicly funded matters within the legal aid framework.

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, barristers, and local authorities.

• Contribute to the department's business strategy and marketing initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for new work and develop referral relationships.

About You

• Experience in public law children matters and care proceedings.

• Strong knowledge of the Children Act and family law legislation.

• Experience managing publicly funded cases and understanding legal aid requirements.

• Good advocacy skills and court representation experience.

• Excellent client care and communication skills.

• Ability to manage a caseload independently and work under pressure.

• Proactive and commercially aware approach.

• Interest in business development and building professional relationships.

• Membership of the Law Society's Children Law Accreditation Scheme is advantageous.
